YATEasked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether the Civil Disobedience Inquiry Committee, which was appointed by the All-India Congress at its last meeting at Lucknow to tour through all the principal towns of India with the object of ascertaining what part of the country is ripe for disobedience, has yet been arrested; and, if not, what steps are being taken in the matter?
§ Earl WINTERTONNo arrest has been reported, and from communications received from the Government of India the Secretary of State is satisfied that this means that no dangerous development has taken place.
