HC Deb 26 May 1921 vol 142 c322
89. Mr. W. GRAHAM

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether the text of the Universities (Scotland) Bill, 1921, has been supplied to education and other bodies in Scotland; whether the Bill has yet been presented to this House; and when Scottish Members will be supplied with copies of it?

The SECRETARY for SCOTLAND (Mr. Munro)

A Universities (Scotland) Bill was submitted to me with the approval of the University Courts of the four Scottish Universities, but I am not aware if the Bill in that form was considered by any education bodies other than the University Courts. As I informed my hon. Friend on the 4th May last, I was considering the possibility of introducing a Universities Bill. The Bill I have in view is substantially the Bill of the University Courts. I fear that it will not be possible to make progress with such a Bill this Session, but I hope that I may be able to introduce it so that its' provisions may be considered by Members of the House and others interested.
