HC Deb 21 October 1920 vol 133 c1069
26. Mr. RAPER

asked the Prime Minister for what purpose the restrictions regarding the hours of sale of sweetmeats, cigarettes, etc., are still enforced in theatres, music halls, etc.?

Mr. SHORTT

My right hon. Friend has asked me to reply to this question. I would ask the hon. Member to refer to the full statement of the grounds for retaining and enforcing the present restrictions which I made in the Debate in Standing Committee E on the Shops (Early Closing) (No. 2) Bill on the 5th August last, which he will find on pages 6 and 7 of the OFFICIAL REPORT of the proceedings.
