HC Deb 06 May 1920 vol 128 cc2218-9
25. Commander Viscount CURZON

asked the Prime Minister whether he can yet state what decision has been arrived at by the Allies with regard to the trial of War criminals now in the hands of the Allies and of those on the black list whose extradition has been demanded?

32. Sir J. BUTCHER

asked the Prime Minister whether he can state what progress has been made in the arrangements for the trial at Leipzig of the German War criminals; and when those trials are likely to commence?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I can add nothing to the statements already made on this subject.

Viscount CURZON

May I ask whether this subject was discussed at the Conference at San Remo, and, if not, whether it will be discussed at the forthcoming Conference at Spa?

Mr. BONAR LAW

It was discussed at the Conference at San Remo.

Sir J. BUTCHER

Is there any difficulty about the French Government sending witnesses to Leipzig to give evidence against these alleged criminals?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I have just said the subject was discussed at San Remo, and action is being taken, I understand, at Paris. I think we had better not give information until we know what is being done.

Mr. MILLS

May I ask whether those responsible for the continuation of the war against Russia will be regarded as war criminals?
