HC Deb 06 May 1920 vol 128 c2222
65. Mr. WILLIAM SHAW

asked the Lord Privy Seal if he is aware that there is widespread suspicion that outside influences are being brought to bear upon the Government to delay and, if possible, to prevent the publication of Sir Stuart. Samuel's Report on Poland; and will he, therefore, arrange for the immediate publication of the Report?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Harmsworth)

I am not aware of any suspicions of the kind indicated in the first part of the question, and I can say definitely that no outside influences have been brought to bear on His Majesty's Government. As regards the second part, I have nothing to add to the reply which I gave on Monday to the hon. Member for North Lanark.

Colonel WEDGWOOD

Why is the British taxpayer, who will have to pay for this Report, not to have the privilege of seeing that Report?

Mr. HARMSWORTH

Perhaps the hon. and gallant Gentleman will refer to the answer I have already given.
