HC Deb 03 May 1920 vol 128 cc1708-9
82. Lieut.-Colonel HURST

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that several hundred professional and business firms in Manchester have received notice to quit in consequence of the purchase by speculators of large properties in Booth Street, and by a well-known combine of all one side of St. James's Square; and whether he will introduce protective legislation before next quarter day?

Mr. PARKER

I have no information as to the cases to which my hon. Friend refers, and I cannot anticipate the terms of the Bill which I hope to introduce at a very early date.
