HC Deb 25 March 1920 vol 127 cc598-9
59. Major WHELER

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether there is any general scheme of revision of the travelling allowances of civil servants under consideration at the present time; and, if not, when the scheme of revision can be entered upon?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the TREASURY (Mr. Baldwin)

Departments have been asked to furnish to the Treasury statements of the travelling allowances drawn by various classes of Civil Servants. Until this information has been received, I am unable to say whether any revision will be considered necessary.

Major WHELER

Will the hon. Gentleman say whether we shall get a reply fairly soon?

Mr. BALDWIN

I cannot say when.
