HC Deb 24 March 1920 vol 127 cc402-3
48. Mr. G. LOCKER-LAMPSON

asked the Prime Minister whether the Government intend to introduce a Revenue Bill this year?

The CHANCELLOR of the EXCHEQUER (Mr. Chamberlain)

Yes, Sir.

Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSON

Will the Income Tax be in the Revenue Bill instead of the Finance Bill?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

Any proposals for alteration in the machinery of Income Tax must be in the Revenue Bill. I could not ask the House to consider them in the time limits fixed for the consideration of the Finance Bill.
