HC Deb 24 March 1920 vol 127 c389
19. Lieut.-Colonel MALONE

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he can yet state what steps are being taken to deal with the unemployment at Plymouth?

Mr. LONG

Arrangements have been made for a 10,000-ton oil tank vessel to be laid down at Devonport. Any further opportunities of taking in hand work such as is contemplated in the Report of the Colwyn Committee will be watched for and utilised; but, as I have already stated, I fear that further discharges are inevitable.

Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the hon. Member's acquaintance with Plymouth is confined to a meeting on Bolshevism which he addressed the other day?
