HC Deb 23 March 1920 vol 127 c253
75. Viscount CURZON

asked the First Commissioner of Works if he will state when the speed restriction of 12 miles per hour in the Royal parks was introduced; and whether it could now be somewhat increased, in view of the experience gained since its imposition?

The FIRST COMMISSIONER of WORKS (Sir A. Mond)

The present restriction was imposed in 1910. The question of abolishing it has been carefully considered, and the regulation has been withdrawn. The ordinary speed limit now applies, but it will be strictly enforced as far as the Royal parks are concerned.
