HC Deb 23 March 1920 vol 127 c254
77. Sir J. D. REES

asked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that, whereas letters are delivered in Pont Street and in Belgrave Square at 8 a.m., delivery is not made in the intervening Chesham Place till 8.45 a.m.; and whether there are no means of ensuring earlier delivery without the entertainment of additions to the staff?

Mr. ILLINGWORTH

There is no such method other than the re-arrangement of the postmen's walks in such a way as to benefit Chesham Place at the expense of neighbouring streets.

Sir J. D. REES

Will the right hon. Gentleman consider if he cannot do something to expedite delivery in this part of late and lazy London?

Mr. ILLINGWORTH

I will have it enquired into again to see if anything can be done.
