HC Deb 18 March 1920 vol 126 c2383
65. Mr. F. ROBERTS

asked whether the administrative concessions re the earnings of old age pensioners are still operative; and, if not, whether any new regulations will be introduced permitting pensioners to earn wages up to 3Cs. per week?

Mr. BALDWIN

The reply to both parts of the question is in the negative. The payment, by administrative action, of old age pensions not authorised by law was held to be justifiable as an emergency measure in time of war; but the concessions referred to have been superseded by the Old Age Pensions Act, 1919, which came into operation on the 2nd January last.
