§ 47 Major BREESEasked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the increase in cost of lunatic patients chargeable to boards of guardians maintained at lunatic asylums, the sum of 1s. per head repaid to the various unions under the Local Government Act, 1888, is wholly inadequate and throws a heavy burden upon local rates, he is prepared to introduce legislation to amend the said Act, so as to assure to boards of guardians at least 50 per cent. of the actual ascertained cost to them of every lunatic patient maintained in a county asylum?
