HC Deb 02 March 1920 vol 126 cc245-6
48. Mr. WILLIAM GRAHAM

asked the Prime Minister whether his attention has been called to the fact that at the present time there is active speculation in business property in all parts of the country: that shops and warehouses and other properties are being sold at inflated prices without the knowledge of the tenants, who are being compelled to remove, often unnecessarily, at great expense, involving considerable dislocation in the business of many communities; and whether, having regard to the prejudicial effect of this speculation on the revival of trade and commerce, he is prepared to introduce legislation to deal with the question?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I cannot add anything to what has already been said on the subject.
