§ Mr. DONALD (by Private Notice)asked the Minister of Labour, if he will state the present position regarding the dockers' strike in Belfast, having regard to the serious shortage of coal and seeing that arrangements have been made for supplying coal to Ireland. Will the right hon. Gentleman again take steps to bring the parties together with a view to a settlement?
§ Sir R. HORNEI regret that I am not in a position to give to the hon. Member detailed information in reply to his question, but I can assure him that my officers in Ireland, who have been constantly in touch with the parties, will take all possible steps to effect a settlement.
