81. Captain Sir BEVILLE STANIER

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture what quantity, in imperial gallons, of milk was imported in the latest week for which figures are available; what is the country of origin; from which port or ports it is consigned, and at which ports it is received in this country; what are the transport charges from the port of departure; and has he any information as to the hygienic conditions under which it was produced?

The latest information shows that in the week ended 13th March, 1920, 116 cwts. (= 1276 gallons) of fresh milk were imported at Harwich from Esbjerg in Denmark. No information is available as to the transport charges from the port of departure or as to the hygienic conditions under which the milk was produced.
