HC Deb 14 June 1920 vol 130 c852
2. Mr. REMER

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been called to the overstaffing of his Department at Cornwall Road, off Waterloo Road; and whether he will consider the expedient of abolishing this staff altogether and leaving the work, as formerly, with the Public Trustee?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of TRADE (Sir Robert Horne)

I am unable to identify the Department to which the hon. Member refers. No Department of the Board of Trade is doing work which was formerly performed by the Public Trustee.

Mr. REMER

Does not the Department dealing with enemy debts come under that category?

Sir R. HORNE

Yes, we deal with enemy debts, but that work was not previously done by the Public Trustee.
