HC Deb 12 July 1920 vol 131 cc1960-1
68. Mr. CHARLES WHITE

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department whether the terms of the concession granted by the Turkish Government to the Turkish Petroleum Company provided for the purchase outright of the exploitation rights in the oil of Mosul and Baghdad or for the payment of a sum year by year by way of royalty?

Mr. KELLAWAY (Secretary, Department of Overseas Trade)

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to the hon. Member for Mid-Stafford on 5th July.

Mr. WHITE

That reply said nothing. Cannot the right hon. Gentleman give us something more—some facts?

Mr. KELLAWAY

I have the reply here. It seems to me to contain a good deal.

69. Mr. C. WHITE

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department whether any director of the Anglo-Persian Oil Company is also a director of the Turkish Petroleum Company?

Mr. KELLAWAY

No, Sir!
