HC Deb 12 July 1920 vol 131 cc1954-5
30. Mr. A. HERBERT

asked the Prime Minister whether Great Britain's interest is served, morally, financially, or commercially, by encouraging the Greeks to engage in a new war?

Mr. BONAR LAW

This is not a new war. As I stated on Wednesday last, the Greek advance is merely part of the Allied operations to resist the aggression of the rebel Nationalists directed against the execution of the Peace Treaty.

Captain W. BENN

Can the right hon. Gentleman yet say whether this will involve a Supplementary Estimate?

Mr. BONAR LAW

No, Sir, I cannot.
