HC Deb 08 July 1920 vol 131 c1647
52. Mr. HURD

asked the Prime Minister whether his attention has been called to the statement of Sir Henry Wilson, Chief of the General Staff, that 20 or 30 wars are now in progress in various parts of the world; and will he give details to the House?

Mr. BONAR LAW

The Chief of the Imperial General Staff was evidently describing the state of extreme unrest which prevails throughout the world. If he were available, he would, I feel sure, be able to name 20 or 30 theatres where a state of war, or conditions approximating to a state of war, existed at the time.
