HC Deb 07 July 1920 vol 131 cc1443-4
48. Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

asked the Prime Minister whether it is proposed to introduce legislation this Session for the amalgamation of the existing railway systems as outlined in Cmd. 787; whether separate Bills will be introduced for the fusion of each rail- way; and will Bills be introduced in the House of Commons or in another place?

Mr. BONAR LAW

It is hoped that a Bill may be introduced in the autumn the details of which it is proposed to discuss with the interests concerned before introduction. It is hoped that separate Bills will not be necessary for each amalgamation.

Lieut. - Commander KENWORTHY

Will the right hon. Gentleman answer the third part of the question?

Mr. BONAR LAW

It is too soon to decide; in all probability in this House.
