HC Deb 05 July 1920 vol 131 c1003
27. Mr. WATERSON

asked the Prime Minister if he can state the Government's policy as to the advisability of granting seamen the 48-hours week.

The MINISTER of LABOUR (Dr. Macnamara)

I have been asked to reply. This question is now under discussion by an International Conference at Genoa, at which the Government is represented. Until this Conference has made its Report, I am not in a position to make a statement.

Lieut. - Commander KENWORTHY

What instructions have been given to the British Government representatives at this Conference on this matter?

Dr. MACNAMARA

I cannot say.

Mr. WATERSON

Have any instructions been given?
