HC Deb 26 February 1920 vol 125 c1885
32. Mr. SWAN

asked the Prime Minister what arrangements have been made for the repatriation of the Czech forces in Siberia; and when their repatriation will have been completed.

Sir H. GREENWOOD

After negotiation it was decided by the Supreme Council that the responsibility for the conveyance of the Czech forces in Siberia should be divided between His Majesty's Government and the United States Government. A shipping programme has been prepared under which approximately 10,000 out of the 18,000 Czechs for whom His Majesty's Government are responsible will have left Vladivostok early in April. As the hon. Member is doubtless aware, a considerable portion of the Czech forces are still moving eastward. The collapse of the Kolchak Government has added immensely to the difficulty of conveying them to Vladivostok, and it is not certain whether the men will be available for embarkation on the dates originally fixed.
