HC Deb 26 February 1920 vol 125 c1915
75. Mr. JESSON

asked the Minister of Health if he has received any communications from the Actors' Association, or from the Variety Artistes' Federation concerning the insanitary condition of a great number of provincial theatres and other places of amusement, particularly with regard to the dressing rooms: whether he is aware that these insanitary conditions affect the health and comfort of the performers; and whether he proposes to take any action in cases where local health authorities refuse to act in these matters?

Dr. ADDISON

I have received communications from the Actors' Association complaining of insanitary conditions in some provincial theatres, and have told them that, if they fail to get such conditions remedied by the local authority of the district, and will bring the case before me, I will consider whether I can advantageously take the matter up with the local authority.
