HC Deb 26 February 1920 vol 125 c1896
35. Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

asked the Prime Minister whether the Treaty of Peace with Bulgaria will be introduced into this House in the form of a Bill: if so, when; and, if not, when he proposes to make a statement with reference to this Treaty of Peace?

The PRIME MINISTER

The Treaty should be ready to lay before Parliament next week. A Bill is at the same time being prepared empowering His Majesty in Council to take any steps which may be necessary to carry out the requirements of certain Articles of the Austrian and Bulgarian Treaties.

Lieut. - Commander KENWORTHY

Will the right hon. Gentleman make a statement on this very important Treaty? Will there be an opportunity of discussing it?

The PRIME MINISTER

If there is a Bill the House will have the opportunity of discussing it on Second Reading.

Captain REDMOND

May I ask whether, at the same time as this proposal is made to introduce a Peace Treaty with Bulgaria, a treaty of peace with Ireland is to be deferred?

The PRIME MINISTER

It was introduced.
