Mr. MACLEANasked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that on 9th January a detective-inspector called at the office of the "New Catholic Press" and gave instructions that none of the copies of the current issue were to be issued for sale until the authorities saw whether the issue contained anything to which they objected; whether all copies of the issues of 27th December, 3rd January, and 27th January were taken away; whether they were forbidden to sell any copies of the issue of 10th January at their peril; whether the inspector had a warrant for his action: whether he can state by whom the action was authorised; and what good is likely to result from such proceedings?
