HC Deb 19 February 1920 vol 125 c1010
6. Brigadier-General PALMER

asked what steps it is proposed to take with reference to those men on the 20 per cent. to per cent. pensions who are awaiting vocational training when the out-of-work donation ceases in March; and are they to be instrucetd to apply for out-relief, or will the Ministry grant temporary increases in their pensions to meet the cost of living until they obtain work or are placed in training?

Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

The Ministry of Pensions has no power to grant temporary increases in pensions pending training. The remainder of the question is for the Ministry of Labour; but my right hon. Friend informs me that the matter is now under consideration.
