HC Deb 19 February 1920 vol 125 c1037
48. Lieut.-Colonel Sir S. HOARE

asked the Prime Minister whether, in the interests of British trade and influence, through railway communication can now be arranged between Ostend and Central Europe?

The PRIME MINISTER

A meeting in connection with the resumption of this service was to be held at Wurzburg on the 11th inst., at which the British, Belgian, French, Prussian, Bavarian and Austrian railway companies concerned were to be represented. A report of the result of this meeting has not at present been received, but the Inter-Allied Rhineland High Commission are fully alive to the importance of the matter, and it is to be hoped that the service may shortly be resumed.
