§ 20. Commander Viscount CURZONasked whether Lord Jellicoe had made any Report to the Admiralty with reference to the problem of the national defence 872 of the Empire: and, if so, whether that Report will be available to Members of the House of Commons?
§ Mr. LONGLord Jellicoe has made no comprehensive report to the Admiralty on the Naval Defence of the Empire, that being rather a matter for the Admiralty themselves; but he has made a series of reports to the Dominion Governments on the local problems of Naval defence, including naturally the local aspects of Imperial defence.
As I informed my Noble and gallant Friend last Session, I will arrange that this House is put in possession of information on this subject equivalent to what is published elsewhere; but I think it will be best to issue it here in a single White Paper, and I therefore propose to wait until we know exactly what is being published in each Dominion.
