HC Deb 18 February 1920 vol 125 cc871-2
20. Commander Viscount CURZON

asked whether Lord Jellicoe had made any Report to the Admiralty with reference to the problem of the national defence of the Empire: and, if so, whether that Report will be available to Members of the House of Commons?

Mr. LONG

Lord Jellicoe has made no comprehensive report to the Admiralty on the Naval Defence of the Empire, that being rather a matter for the Admiralty themselves; but he has made a series of reports to the Dominion Governments on the local problems of Naval defence, including naturally the local aspects of Imperial defence.

As I informed my Noble and gallant Friend last Session, I will arrange that this House is put in possession of information on this subject equivalent to what is published elsewhere; but I think it will be best to issue it here in a single White Paper, and I therefore propose to wait until we know exactly what is being published in each Dominion.
