HC Deb 12 February 1920 vol 125 cc213-4
33. Mr. G. LOCKER-LAMPSON

asked the Prime Minister whether he will now be able to attend this House at Question time on two days a week.

The PRIME MINISTER

As I stated at the close of last Session, I intend to answer questions on two days in the week—on Mondays and Thursdays. During the time, however, that the Prime Ministers of Allied Countries are in London attending the Peace Conference, I am sure that the House will excuse me, if at any time I do not find it possible to be present to answer the questions in person. I venture also to make an appeal to hon. Members to give as long notice as possible, as it is necessary for me, in order to give adequate replies, to consult the Departments concerned. I hope, therefore, that hon. Members will have their questions for Thursday on the Order Paper not later than Tuesday morning, and for Monday on the Order Paper not later than Friday morning.

Mr. HOGGE

I do not know the reason for Mondays, but can my right hon. Friend not make it Tuesdays and Thursdays, in view of the difficulty of many members reaching the House on Monday?

The PRIME MINISTER

I am entirely in the hands of hon. Members. It is all the same to me whether it is Monday or Tuesday, but I should have thought Monday the more convenient.

HON. MEMBERS

Monday.
