HC Deb 10 August 1920 vol 133 c214
23. Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

asked the Secretary of State for War what is the military and political situation in Northern Persia; and why British soldiers are in that country?

Mr. CHURCHILL

As regards the military situation, the 36th Brigade, with headquarters, is at Kasvin, with a detachment on the Tabriz road at Zinjan. The detachment formerly at Menzil has withdrawn towards Kasvin. The latest information, however, is to the effect that Menzil is to be re-occupied by our forces. The remained of the question should be addressed to my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs.
