HC Deb 10 August 1920 vol 133 c202
6. Mr. ROBERT RICHARDSON

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the American Secretary of State, the British Ambassador to the United States, and the British Minister to China have been in conference on the general question of Far East policy; whether he has received a Report of their deliberations; and whether he will make a statement as to its contents?

Mr. HARMSWORTH

His Majesty's Minister at Peking has just returned home on leave viâ the American Continent, and the opportunity was taken of a visit to Washington, when matters of mutual interest in the Far East were informally discussed with the gentlemen mentioned in the question. A memorandum has been drawn up by Sir Beilby Alston, but it has not yet been placed in the hands of the Secretary of State.
