asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland how many magistrates and how many members of the Royal Irish Constabulary, respectively, have tendered their resignations during the past three months?

Sir H. GREENWOOD

The number of magistrates who have resigned from the 1st May to the present date is 315. The number of resignations from the Royal Irish Constabulary from 1st May to 31st July, is 556. The number of recruits for the same period is 816.

I did not ask for the number of recruits?

I thought I would give the hon. Member all the information I could.
