HC Deb 09 August 1920 vol 133 c8
15. Mr. CHARLES BARRIE

asked the. Minister of Transport if he is aware of the over-crowded condition of the night trains running between Aberdeen and London; that passengers have to travel the whole journey in the corridors of the carriages; and whether he can do anything to remedy matters?

Sir E. GEDDES

I was not previously aware of any cause for complaint against the companies in regard to over-crowding on this service. While economy in adding to the load of existing trains, and in duplication is rigid and essential, there is no wish to do this to an unreasonable extreme I have had immediate inquiries made, and will communicate further with the hon. Member as soon as I receive replies.
