21. Lieut.-Colonel BURGOYNE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the United States of America have concluded, or entered into, economic treaties with the Soviet Government of Russia; and whether he will state the terms of such treaties?

Mr. HARMSWORTH

So far as His Majesty's Government are aware, no such treaties have been concluded.

Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

Is the hon. Gentleman aware of the economic pourparlers between the Scandinavian Powers and Soviet Russia?

Mr. PEMBERTON BILLING

Will the hon. Gentleman answer the part of the question which asks whether the American Government have entered into negotiations for economic relations?

Mr. HARMSWORTH

I think the answer is intended to cover that point.

We are not aware of any such trans-actions.
