HC Deb 29 April 1920 vol 128 c1421
85. Mr. A. SHORT

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he is aware that the Darlaston parish church school was recently closed for some days owing to shortage of coal supplies; and, if so, will he take action to ensure the school being properly heated?

Mr. LEWIS

I am informed that the school was closed for a day and a half on the 14th and 15th instant for the reason stated. The matter is, in the first instance, one for the local education authority to deal with, and I have no doubt that they are doing their best to secure a regular supply of coal.
