§ 56. Mr. JOHN DAVISONasked the Lord Privy Seal whether the Cabinet Committee inquiring into the position of pre-War pensioners has collected any information from the various Government Departments; and whether he will secure a return from each Department showing the number of pensioners receiving a pension of £26 per year or under, £52 per year or under, £104 per year or under, and all over £156 per year, such return in the case of the Board of Education to include retired teachers, and in the case of the Ministry of Health to include retired Poor Law officers, asylum workers, &c.?
§ Mr. BONAR LAWThe Cabinet Committee is obtaining all necessary information bearing on the subject of their inquiry. I do not think that the return suggested by the hon. Member, which would apparently include information as to all superannuated officers of local authorities, would be commensurate in value with the time and labour that would be involved in its preparation.
