Dr. MURRAYasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Shipping whether he is aware of the increasing difficulty of obtaining food and other supplies in the Hebrides in consequence of the reduced transport facilities to these islands; whether his Department is taking any steps to increase the steamer services in these areas; and whether he can hold out any hope of a speedy improvement?
Colonel WILSONThe position in the Hebrides is being carefully watched by the Departments concerned, and such steps as are possible will be taken with a view to improving the existing facilities.
