HC Deb 20 April 1920 vol 128 cc222-3
54. Captain R. TERRELL

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware that the Special Commissioners of Income Tax are seeking to debar volunteer officers from the benefits purporting by Section 51 of the Income Tax Act, 1918, to be conferred upon any of the military or naval forces of the Crown; and if he will state upon what grounds the volunteers are deprived of the benefits granted to the other military forces in respect of the payment of Super-tax?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the answer given to the hon. Member for Devonport on the 15th instant, a copy of which I am sending him.
