HC Deb 20 April 1920 vol 128 cc192-3
3. Mr. CHARLES EDWARDS

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs to state the time of commencing business each day in the different Parliaments of Europe, America, Japan, South Africa and the British Colonies; the number of hours they sit each day; and the approximate time taken each year?

Mr. HARMSWORTH

I regret that the information required is not in my possession, but I will call for reports if the House so desire.

Mr. EDWARDS

How are we to know whether the House is desirous or not?

Mr. HARMSWORTH

I think I may put it more definitely and say that if my hon. Friend desires it, I will do what I can to meet his wish.

Sir J. D. REES

Will the hon. Gentleman throw in a few particulars regarding the climate, population and customs of the countries concerned?
