HC Deb 29 October 1919 vol 120 c660
53. Colonel NEWMAN

asked the Prime Minister whether any decision has been come to as to the issue of free railway passes to Members of Parliament?

61. Mr. WATERSON

asked the Prime Minister whether he can now state the decision of the Government relative to the granting of free passes for Members of this House?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I will answer these-two questions together. The answer is-in the negative.

Mr. DAVISON

Can the right hon. Gentleman state whether the railway directors, whose salaries are assured under Government control, have free railway passes?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I do not know, but I presume that they have, and, if so, it is the result of a definite agreement made-at the time that the railways were taken over.
