HC Deb 29 October 1919 vol 120 cc847-8

Resolution reported, That it is expedient to authorise further provision, out of moneys to be provided by Parliament, for the pay of members of the Royal Irish Constabulary and Dublin Metropolitan Police, and for pensions, allowances, and gratuities to members of those forces, their widows, and children, in pursuance of any Act of the present Session to amend the law relating to the Royal Irish Constabulary and Dublin Metropolitan Police.

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That this House doth agree with the Committee in the said Resolution."

Colonel GRETTON

A statement of the cost involved in a Bill of this kind is usually given when the Resolution is submitted. It has not been forthcoming on this occasion. I do not wish to oppose the Resolution, but I would ask the representative of the Irish Office that the necessary information should be available when we come to the Committee stage of the Bill.

The ATTORNEY-GENERAL for IRELAND (Mr. Henry)

I will arrange to supply my hon. and gallant Friend with the information which he wants.

Question put, and agreed to.

The remaining Orders were read, and postponed.
