§ Mr. BRIDGEMANMy right hon. Friend recognises that it is desirable that British traders should make every effort to secure a proper footing in German markets, and this view was expressed in a White Paper (Cmd. 350) issued in September. A Commercial Commissioner has already been stationed at Berlin, and two additional Commercial Commissioners will be appointed very shortly. A representative of the Department of Oversea Trade has also been attached since last June, to the staff of the Military Governor at Cologne to reply to commercial inquiries. The Department of Oversea Trade will be prepared to deal with any inquiries which it may receive with regard to the German market.
