Captain BENNasked the Prime Minister whether the Government will postpone making an Order or Orders in Council terminating the War until treaties of peace with Austria, Hungary, Turkey, and Bulgaria have been ratified; and, if so, whether he will indicate when he expects these treaties to be ratified?
§ Mr. BONAR LAWAs regards the first part of the question, I stated in answer to a similar question by my hon. and gallant. Friend on 18th August last, that this matter was governed by Statute, and the Government see no reason for proposing any alteration to it. As regards the last part of the question, it is not possible to make any statement at present.
