§ Sir A. GEDDESI am sending the hon, Member a copy of the statement published in the Press on the 23rd August, which contains a list of articles of which the importation is restricted. The general object of the restrictions was explained by the Prime Minister in his statement on trade policy just before the Recess.
§ Sir A. GEDDESThere has been no alteration whatever in connection with import restrictions since the list was published; but there has been a great relaxation in connection with exports.
§ Mr. G. TERRELLIs it proposed to continue the restrictions on imports from countries where there has been a collapse of the exchange, or the other way round?
§ Sir A. GEDDESThat was fully explained by the Prime Minister in his statement. If the need arises such restrictions will be imposed. So far no need has arisen.
