HC Deb 27 November 1919 vol 121 cc1891-2
59. Mr. CHADWICK

asked the Prime Minister if he can now make any statement as to the steps which the Government feel able to take to facilitate the use of the Prince of Wales' Fund for the relief of cases of distress due to the cessation of the unemployment benefit; and whether he can recommend greater decentralisation of authority in dealing with purely local cases?

The PRIME MINISTER

I cannot add anything to the replies which have already been given on this subject.

Mr. KILEY

May I ask whether the right hon. Gentleman is prepared to consider the setting up of a Committee to consider what is the best use to which these funds can be put?

The PRIME MINISTER

I would rather not answer that now, because the subject is being considered very carefully at this very moment by the Ministry of Labour.
