HC Deb 27 November 1919 vol 121 cc1895-6
66. Mr. A. SHORT

asked the Prime Minister whether at a recent conference of medical men, held at Wigmore Hall, London, it was decided to recommend practitioners not to accept service under the Ministry of Health until a satisfactory rate had been secured; and whether he will afford this House facilities to discuss the matter?

Mr. PARKER (Lord of the Treasury)

The Minister of Health has been requested to reply to this question. A general conference of representatives of all local medical and panel committees is being held to-day to discuss the terms and conditions of service of insurance practitioners, and he proposes to receive a deputation from that conference to learn from them the outcome of their deliberations. In these circumstances he is not in a position to make any statement to-day on the subject.
