HC Deb 27 November 1919 vol 121 cc1898-9
81. Mr. KILEY

asked the Prime Minister whether any payment has been received from Germany towards the cost of the Army of Occupation; and, if so, in what form the payment has been made?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I have been asked to answer this question. I must refer the hon. Member to the answers given to the hon. Member for Central Aberdeen on the 29th October and to the hon. Member for West Toxteth of the 27th October on the question of payment to be made by Germany under the Separation Section of the Treaty.

Lord H. CAVENDISH-BENTINCK

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that our economic recovery is very much hampered by uncertainty as to the amount of the indemnity to be paid?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

My Noble Friend knows that that does not arise out of the question.
