§ Dr. MACNAMARAI regret that no statistics on this subject are immediately 1768 available, and I am advised that in order to compile a return, even of the permanent officers concerned, an amount of time and labour on the part of the staff would be involved which would seriously interfere with the ordinary work of the Department.
