HC Deb 25 November 1919 vol 121 cc1594-5
49. Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

asked the Prime Minister which States and which de facto Governments will be invited to attend the proposed Inter national Conference on the Russian situation; who will be the British representatives at the Conference; and where and when it is proposed to hold the Conference?

Mr. BONAR LAW (Leader of the House)

As was said by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister on Thursday last, this is to be a Conference of the Allied and Associated Powers, but I cannot make any further statement on the subject at present.

Lieut. - Commander KENWORTHY

May I ask for an answer to the second part of the question?

Mr. BONAR LAW

The representatives will be from among those nations who were represented at the Peace Conference.

Lieut. - Commander KENWORTHY

As regards the third part of the question, has it been decided yet where this Conference is to be held, and when?

Mr. BONAR LAW

No; neither place nor date has been definitely settled.

Mr. BILLING

Can the right hon. Gentleman say definitely that it has not been decided by the British Government to invite two representatives of the Soviet Government to attend?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I am ready to state it. It has been stated very often already.
